With the support of the Altum programme “Loans for Digitalisation”, implemented within the framework of the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), a project for the purchase and installation of a new candle production line is being implemented.

The “Dobele Municipality Entrepreneur of the Year” competition awards ceremony took place on December 6 at the Tērvete Culture House.
The goal of this competition is to celebrate and recognize entrepreneurs in Dobele Municipality who demonstrate active and responsible business practices, contributing to the growth of local entrepreneurship. It also aims to highlight their achievements, showcase exemplary business practices, and foster a stronger sense of community and belonging within the municipality.
As many as 46 entrepreneurs were nominated and evaluated. Out of these, 23 entrepreneurs were shortlisted in 9 nominations, where one entrepreneur received an award in each nomination.
In the nomination “Dobele Municipality PRODUCER OF THE YEAR 2024,” the main prize was awarded to Baltic Candles Ltd. We sincerely thank the team for their hard work and dedication, showing that success is inevitable when everyone works together toward a common goal.

Thanks to the Confederation of Societies of Ukrainians “VICHE”, a donation campaign “Join Hands to Succeed!” in support of Ukraine is being organized in Dobele Municipality.
A convoy with the donated items will be leaving Dobele on 11 November, and our candles will also be delivered directly to Ukraine.

On the sunny afternoon of June 21, the magical sounds of traditional Latvian folk music reverberated around Lake Gaurats – the company Baltic Candles celebrated the Midsummer festival with their employees and their families. Traditionally, lighting a bonfire is key to capturing the special festive feeling of the summer solstice.

The participants gathered for a procession to the bonfire site, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. The torchlight procession overwhelmed everyone present and helped them feel the true magic of the festival.

Of course, important Midsummer traditions were not forgotten – leafy branches, Midsummer wreaths, and a festive feast. The participants of the event engaged in fun and exciting activities that made them laugh and rejoice.

One of the central tourist attractions in Dobele is the ruins of the Livonian Order Castle, built in the 14th century. In 2020, the castle ruins were given a new look and have become a multifunctional centre for culture, crafts, and tourism development, named Dobele Castle. Dobele Castle is one of the most visited places in the Dobele Municipality, giving pleasure not only to locals but also the visitors from all over Latvia and beyond.
We are proud of the new appearance of the Castle, and therefore, we offer a new design lantern candle featuring a wonderful photo of the Castle captured in the spring of 2024. The advantage and great feature of this design candle is that, as it burns, the design decorates it throughout its burning time, illuminating it and giving the design various moods imparted by the flame. The candle is adorned with a photograph obtained thanks to the winner of a photo contest – Dobele local Dana Keine-Cine.

Festive parade took place as part of the Dobele City Festival.
As every year, also this year the employees of the company together with their families participated in the festive parade.
It is a great opportunity for the people employed in the company to meet outside the working environment and experience spirit of the holiday, thus reminding the locals and guests of the festival about their company.

As part of the Dobele City Festival, a festive run/walk took place, which was the athletic segment of the celebration.
In honour of this year’s 770th anniversary of the city, each participant covered a distance of 7.70 km, either walking or running.
Our company’s team also accomplished this together!

This year, the city where our company was founded and is located is celebrating a major anniversary –770 years since the city first appeared in historical records.
In honour of this occasion, the municipality announced that everyone can record their video greeting to the city.

This year same as every year the employees of the company together with their families were welcome to take part in the clean-up, which took place within the framework of the Latvian Big Cleanup.
This year, we cleaned the company’s courtyard area as well as the area behind the fence. Although the area well-maintained daily, there is always something that can be improved even further.
We also cleaned the adjacent area beyond the fence, where, unfortunately, waste and litter had accumulated during the dark winter months.
There is shared joy in what we have accomplished and summer can begin!

Over 8,500 respondents, representing 50% of all survey participants, cast their votes for employers in Zemgale, ranking it as the second most favored region. Votes were distributed among nearly 80 companies, with the top ten employers capturing more than 70% of the category’s votes. Six companies succeeded in retaining their rankings.

According to the results of the survey in ZEMGALE region, BALTIC CANDLES LTD took 7th place.
